It has been years…

Updated: Jun 5, 2019

Three years. That’s how long I have been neglecting this blog.

It goes without saying that I have not been neglecting my writing. Well, not as much.

Going to university had occupied so much of my time that I absolutely did not have the time or energy to keep up to date with my blogging. In the present circumstances, with more time on my hands, I am back and ready to announce all the great projects I have been working on.

Over the past few years, I have been working hard on numerous writing projects. As most of you all know Forced Entry, though not my first book, was one of them.

I had taken a break from writing it after I noticed it was not panning out the way I had envisioned. I subsequently started a completely new book in a whole different genre.

This book has captured my mind entirely, and I have been throwing out chapter after chapter of content. Whenever I try going back to Forced Entry, I feel so perplexed. With this being said, I have decided to place it on the back burner until I am finished with... drum roll, please... Elemental Effect.

Preliminary Cover

I have yet to write the synopsis for this story so here is a quick mock-up until I finalise the official blurb.

"I've been face to face with danger all my life; a little extra won't hurt..."
Winter Elementari has lived half her life in seclusion. Neglected and abused by the hands of those who were supposed to protect her Winter had given up any hope of a normal life. When her mother suddenly passes her off to an aunt she had no idea existed, she finds herself around people who had similar abilities to the ones that had put her in the bad graces of her family. Thinking that she would now be with people who truly understood her, she was shocked to see that she was met with disgust by her aunt's own daughter.
Enter, the mysterious and troubled Zephyrus Orpheus. Zephyrus is the son of a long-time enemy family of the Elementari's. He feels a pull towards the reclusive Winter with no knowledge of why. Initially, Zephyrus tries to stay away from her in an attempt to get on her family's good graces, but an inevitable attraction form between the two.
The trouble starts when Winter's step-father shows up at the doorsteps of her new home demanding she returns home with him. An enemy springs forth and threatens the existence of the Elemental line. Wanting Winter for their own greedy gain, the group attempts to capture her. A battle ensues. The Elemental's and Orpheus', with the help of Zephyrus, come together for one common goal-To save the future of their kind. No one was prepared, however, for the betrayal of a lifetime.

This book will hopefully be released early to mid-2019. Though this may end up being a series, I am excited about its release.

On the other hand, while working on this book, I had started another book a few years back on Wattpad. I had taken it down in consideration of publishing. I decided this year to re-post it to Wattpad instead of formal publication and altered the plot a little.

This book, No Escape is also in a supernatural and/or fantasy category just like Elemental Effects.

Change is the only constant in life.
At the tender age of six, her life took a turn for the worst but that was not set in stone…
Two years later she was saved, but that did not last for long…
Fifteen almost sixteen-year-old Elara Lyall was born with danger hanging over her head. Growing up, that has not changed. Now moving to a new town once again, her Stepfather and her mother possess secrets, secrets that might change her life forever.

You can experience this story on Wattpad under the pen name C.R.YoungNovels, or click on the link to be directed to the first two chapters of the book No Escape. I will be posting new chapters periodically, starting on the 8th of October.

I have officially become infatuated with the Fantasy, mythology and supernatural genres and possess a multitude of ideas in these areas.

To keep up with my other works in progress, feel free to go to my Work In Progress page. I will soon be adding excerpts, quotes by characters, the music playlist for each book as well as pages, paragraphs and more that did not make the cut.

It feels tremendous to be back, and I hope that you all will love what I have in store.
